I PLEAD INSANITY is a collection of poems, written over a period of time from the experiences and sights of the author. Through poetry, it discusses themes of mental illnesses, rape, emotional trauma, etc. Combining subtlety with raw truth, it is a little out of the ordinary, a perfect fit for a beautiful mind.

Review

The author uses simple words and a magic that utterly leaves the reader in awe as she puts emotions into words and plays on themes such as Domestic Violence, and Self Love. At times, she's the recipient and other times, she's the voice in your head telling you you can do better. Poems like "To Heal", "Succumbus Prime", "To Be Robbed", and "Can You Listen, Once?" Leave the reader in an emotional state that makes him truly understand the emotions conveyed by the author, whose works are sure to leave you spellbound and anxious for more.

—Hauwa Hala Nuraddeen

In I Plead For Sanity, Elienai Julius is a skilled wordsmith, carving out an innovative benchmark for poetry. Her words don't tarry in their mission, of relaying their story. For words that aren't multifaceted or grandiose, they are sublime in their precision and straightforward-ness, climaxing gloriously without intense need of foreplay. Only few artists can pull this sort off aesthetic, in simple words—and Elienai is one of them.

—T. J Martins

This author blew me away with the simplicity of her words. So much beauty reflected in a few words, painting a mental picture of the themes that she _effortlessly_ communicates to her audience. Her heart is seen in her work, which seems to be her trademark. In this book, she pours herself into each line, giving the reader a glimpse into her mind—taking us along as she unravels each thought. And that is awesome.

—Andy Hare

Everything.
I loved every word of hers.

Most of than not, I read poetry shared on Instagram, and a few come close to leaving vulnerability visible in their words. I have a friend from Instagram who is picky with the kind of poets she follows–only those whose words are sincere. I understand more why she's that way now.

Elienai has magical hands, I'll give her that. She started off with sad words, and ended it with telling us to LOVE THE LIGHT. It's a build, a beautiful kind.

It takes a lot to leave your feelings out there in the open, for not just one, but a bunch of people(strangers for most part) see a different side of you. It's one of the best gifts anyone can give. Being vulnerable.

I don't care how selfish I'm being right now, but I'm hoping for more. I want to be able to hold her book in my hands. I'm pleading for my sanity right now. So, maybe then when I hold it in my hands, I'll be fine.

But the pretty flower grew again when the rains came and blossomed even better during summer, and this time, it allowed thorns thistle to grow around it so that no one could steal her colourful flowers anymore without being stabbed....and every day, people would stand afar and admire this great flower, and wonder, wonder and wonder again but they dared not go near , no they dared not triy to pluck

If only men could invent a machine that would read hearts....
And tell the secrets that lay within.....
Perhaps then we would see and understand that we're never ever alone....
All around us are strong girls....
Fighting their battles alone...
Bearing their pains alone...
And saying silent prayers for their kinds....
You're never ever alone...

I saw. I felt. I understood. I cried. I bled. Ingenious piece of art. Beautifully chaotic and ironically uplifting. These words, they live, beautifully stringed, expertly written, subtle hints. This has to be the most touching piece of poetry I ever read. Elienai deserves a world class accolade.
